Short description: Documenting Northern Saw-whet Owl migratory routes and connections between breeding and wintering areas in eastern North America.
Description: This project will document Northern Saw-whet Owl migratory routes and connections between breeding and wintering areas in eastern North America. The project is a wide area collaborative effort organized as part of Project Owlnet (www.ProjectOwlnet.org). Northern Saw-whet Owls will be tagged at breeding areas in Maine, Upper Michigan and the central Appalachian Mountains, post breeding movements will be investigated in the upper peninsula of Michigan and autumn migratory movement monitoring will be coordinated at key migration monitoring stations.
