Migration is an extraordinary phenomenon, and is the subject of study for many scientists around the world. As technologies improve, so do our mechanisms for tracking and analysing bird movements. The Motus Wildlife Tracking System is a large-scale, collaborative research network that uses a fixed radio-telemetry array to study the movements of birds, bats and large insects for the benefit of conservation. The educational materials combine interactive classroom activities with Motus tracking tools that build knowledge about birds, migration and conservation to support project and inquiry-based learning, and a variety of curriculum across grades 7-12. |
